90.000 bisitari izan dira Pasaia Itsas Festibalean
The fourth edition of the Pasai Itsas Festibala took place from May 15 to 17, attracting a remarkable 90,000 visitors, who enjoyed a diverse program of cultural activities at this maritime festival held biennially in the Gipuzkoan bay.
Organizers noted that the presence of the replica of the historic nao San Juan, available for visitors at the San Pedro dock, and the guest maritime culture of Canada were among the most notable aspects of this year’s event, symbolizing the strong ties between Pasaia and Newfoundland via this whaling vessel.
Due to adverse weather and navigation conditions announced ahead of the festival, the list of registered vessels was reduced by nearly 29%. However, around one hundred ships arrived in Pasaia with approximately 600 crew members onboard, underlining the international draw of this Gipuzkoan festival.
